Triumph Street Triple RX Black

The 2016 model of the Triumph Street Triple RX that was unveiled at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham during November 2015 has now been launched officially in the global market. Also known as the Triumph Street Triple ‘Black’, the model stands at the top of the Street Triple range and is available for sale at the dealerships starting this week.

The special edition comes with a sharp rear profile that is hugely inspired from the company’s supersport - Daytona 675R. Besides, the bike also receives a semi-glossy black paint finish and refreshed graphics that have also been taken from the faired middleweight.

The bike is powered by a 675cc, liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder, four-stroke engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission setup. The motor churns out a maximum power of 105bhp at 11,850rpm along with a peak torque of 68Nm at 9,750rpm.

Held together by a twin spar aluminium frame and a two-piece die-cast rear subframe, the bike has been equipped with Kayaba 41mm upside down forks up front and Kayaba monoshock with piggyback reservoir at the rear. Stopping power comes in the form of 310mm dual disc brakes with Nissin four-piston calliper at the front and 220mm single disc brake with Brembo single-piston calliper at the rear, both coupled with switchable ABS for better and responsive braking. The 2016 Street Triple RX rides on 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres that have been mounted over robust red alloy wheels.

The special edition varies from the standard version in many ways. The Street Triple RX Black comes additionally with a small windscreen, a rear seat cowl, quick shifter and a belly cover. The machine weighs 168kg, with seat height of 820mm.

Triumph Street Triple RX Black has been priced at £ 8,599 (Rs. 8.41 lakh), which is equal to the standard Street Triple RX. Though there is presently no word as to whether this model will be sold in India, there is a healthy possibility that the manufacturer might showcase it in the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo.
