Honda has hiked the prices of the Standard and the ABS variants of the CBR 250R by Rs 559. The ABS variant will now set you back by Rs 1,93,666, while the Standard version will cost Rs 1,64,143 (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
Launched in 2011, the Honda CBR 250R was hugely popular among enthusiasts for a long time. However, the transition from BSIII to BSIV emission norms resulted in the bike's production being temporarily suspended. At this year’s Auto Expo, however, Honda unveiled the 2018 CBR 250R with not only a BSIV-compliant engine, but also with new LED headlamps and colour schemes. The 2018 model was later launched at Rs 1,63,584 for the Standard variant and Rs 1,93,107 for the ABS version (both ex-showroom Delhi).
The CBR 250R employs a 249.6cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. Working in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission, it puts out 26.5PS of power at 8500rpm, and 22.9Nm of torque at 7000rpm. The sports tourer rides on telescopic front forks and a Pro-Link monoshock at the rear. A 296mm front and a 220mm rear disc with an optional dual-channel ABS handle braking duties. In the Indian market, the motorcycle locks horns with the Yamaha Fazer 25 in the sports touring quarter-litre segment. At Rs 1,29,335 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Fazer 25 costs Rs 34,808 less than the base model of the CBR 250R.
