Royal Enfield has been testing the new-gen Thunderbird 350 X for a while now and we have seen several spy shots of the motorcycle from different angles. However, the latest set of images have revealed some more interesting information about the updated Thunderbird 350 X. For instance, it gets a new semi-digital instrument, an updated headlamp unit with LED DRL and a redesigned switchgear with retro-styled toggle switch for low- and high-beam.
Apart from these changes, the upcoming Thunderbird 350 X will receive other major cosmetic updates as well, which you can read here. So what else is new in the 2020 TBird 350 X? Well, almost everything! The motorcycle is likely to be based on the company’s J-platform, which could also be used for next-gen Classic 350.
For now, there’s no word about the engine, but it is expected to get a bump in its displacement from 350cc to 400cc. Considering that Royal Enfield is likely to launch the updated motorcycle during the first half of 2020, the engine could feature fuel injection and will likely be BS6-compliant as well. We expect Royal Enfield to equip the 2020 Thunderbird 350 X with the same mechanicals as the current-gen motorcycle.
The 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 X is expected to be priced around Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh, which is around Rs 16,000 to Rs 20,000 more than the current model. In terms of rivals, it will compete with the Bajaj Dominar 400.
