Which of these two 125cc bikes takes the top spot?
Aprilia recently unveiled the 2021 RS 125 in Italy. Thanks to the new updates, the bike is undoubtedly a looker, and that is us being modest. We’ve pitted it against the KTM RC 125 in a series of pictures to see how both the baby supersports fare.
Right off the bat, the 2021 Aprilia RS 125 features a 3-piece LED headlight but misses out on the signature DRLs. On the other hand, the KTM RC 125 gets dual projector lamps with LED DRLs.
The baby RS now gets a fully digital LCD display with white and blue colour options. The RC 125 continues to use the same LCD screen as before.
Powering the 2021 Aprilia RS 125 is a liquid-cooled single-cylinder 124.2cc motor rated at 15.2PS and 11.2Nm. KTM has powered the RC by a 125cc engine making 14.5PS and 12Nm of torque. Both bikes get a 6-speed gearbox.
The Aprilia RS 125 gets a 40mm USD fork and a monoshock. The KTM RC 125 is sprung on a WP 43mm front fork and a WP monoshock.

The Aprilia RS 125 rolls on 17-inch alloys wrapped in a 100/80 front and a 140/70 rear tyre. Meanwhile, the RC 125 uses 17-inch alloys shod with 110/17 front and a 150/70 rear tyre.
With a 14.5-litre fuel tank, the RS 125 has significantly larger than the KTM RC 125’s 9.5 litres.
The Aprilia RS 125 has an 820 mm saddle height and tips the scales at 144kg. Its nemesis, the KTM RC 125, also has the same seat height, but thanks to the smaller fuel tank, the bike weighs 139kg, 5kg less than the Aprilia.
