- Launch expected in the first half of this month.
- Styling inspired by 2020 KTM 200 Duke.
- No mechanical changes expected.
Last week we reported that KTM is gearing up to launch the 2021 125 Duke. Now, the bike has already started reaching dealerships and is expected to launch in the first half of this month. As per our sources, the bike is likely to be priced between Rs 1.70 lakh to Rs 1.75 lakh (on-road), while the outgoing model retails for Rs 1.64 lakh (on-road) in Pune. Bookings have already commenced for a token of Rs 5,000.
The biggest change is the new design, which is now similar to what we have seen on the BS6 200 Duke. Dropping the almost decade-old design, the new model will not only offer a refreshed look but will also benefit from the increased fuel tank capacity from 10.5 litres to 13.5 litres. The headlight and the LCD instrument console is carried over from the 2020 KTM 200 Duke.
The bike will continue to use the 124cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 14.5PS and 12Nm. However, the new bodywork and bigger fuel tank has reportedly increased the weight from 152kg to 158kg, which will affect the bike’s power-to-weight ratio.
The 2021 KTM 125 Duke will be available in 2 colours: Orange and White. Differentiating it from the 200cc sibling is the choice of colours for the frame and subframe along with black alloy wheels instead of the orange ones seen on the 200 Duke. Though the 125 Duke is the only premium 125cc motorcycle in our market, the bike is priced close to the Yamaha MT-15 and Pulsar RS 200.
