Sportbikes, naked bikes, ADV and more, here is what else you can buy for a similar price as the CB300F Flex-fuel bike
The 2024 Honda CB300F Flex-fuel was recently launched by the Japanese manufacturer as India’s first-ever 300cc flex-fuel bike which can run on E85 fuel, which is a mixture of up to 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol. It is priced at Rs 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) – similar to the standard Honda CB300F.
We have compiled a list of what other bikes you can buy for a similar price as the Honda CB300F Flex-fuel bike, including sportbikes, naked bikes, ADV & more:
1. Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom)
Engine: 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder
Power Output: 40PS at 8,800rpm and 35Nm at 6,500rpm
For around Rs 15,000 more, you can get the biggest Pulsar available in Bajaj's portfolio. The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z gets the 373cc engine from the older gen-2 KTM 390 Duke and is the most powerful bike in the Pune-based manufacturer’s lineup. It comes with sporty looks and sharp design elements that make it look even more aggressive. The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is one of the best naked bikes under the Rs 2 lakh mark and is good for daily office or college commutes as well as weekend rides with your riding buddies.
2. Yamaha R15 V4: Rs 1,82,600 (ex-showroom)
Engine: 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder
Power Output: 18.4PS at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm
The Yamaha R15 V4 is the most popular and one of the best options in the 150-200cc sportbike segment. It comes with stunning looks inspired by the bigger Yamaha R1, and stands out with its range of vibrant colour options, from stealth to funky ones. Apart from the looks, the R15 V4 delivers thrilling performance as a 155cc bike, thanks to the VVA (variable valve actuation) technology. The bike also gives an impressive mileage – it returned 55.20kmpl in the city and 60.65kmpl on the highway in our tests.
So, if you are a sportbike enthusiast and want to make you dream a reality without breaking the budget, then you should definitely go for the Yamaha R15 V4. It has best-in-segment features and is suitable for urban rides. It is most enjoyable on a racetrack and around the twisties. However, it is not the ideal bike when it comes to touring, though you can if you want to.
3. Hero Karizma XMR: Rs 1,79,900 (ex-showroom)
Engine: 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder
Power Output: 25.5PS at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm at 7,250rpm
If you love sports bikes but want something different from the R15 V4, then you can go for the Hero Karizma XMR. The sportbike comes with a bigger engine than the R15 V4 and makes significantly more power as well. It stands out from the crowd from its vibrant Iconic Yellow and Turbo Red colours, but if you like stealthy colours then you can get the Karizma XMR in Matte Phantom Black as well. The Karizma is not as committed as the R15 V4 and is more comfortable, which means it can be used for touring as well. Moreover, Karizma XMR is an emotion and nostalgia for many enthusiasts who used to own the older Karizma back in the day and for those who have grown up admiring the OG Karizma.
4. Royal Enfield Hunter 350: Rs 1,49,900 - Rs 1,74,655 (ex-showroom)
Engine: 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine
Power Output: 20.2PS at 6,100rpm and 27Nm at 4,000rpm
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the most affordable and lightweight Royal Enfield bike in India. It is also one of the best-selling bikes in the Chennai-based manufacturer’s lineup and comes with the same 349cc J-series engine as the Classic 350, Bullet 350 and the Meteor 350.
The neo-retro roadster is available in two variants: Retro and Metro, and comes in 8 different colours. Hunter 350 is a good bike which is easy to ride. Moreover, the bike has an accessible seat height of 790mm which is also suitable for shorter riders. It is a perfect match for those who don't want a lot of electronics on their bike and want a straightforward roadster to ride around the city as well as on the highway. However, the Hunter 350 has a stiff rear suspension, which may become slightly uncomfortable on long tours.
5. Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro: Rs 1,54,766 (ex-showroom)
Engine: 199.6cc, air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder
Power Output: 19.1PS at 8,500rpm and 17.35Nm at 6,500rpm
Another Hero bike on the list, but this one is different from all the above-mentioned bikes. The Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro is for those who love to explore off-road trails and ride more on broken roads than on paved highways. As compared to the standard Xpulse 200 4V, the Pro variant comes with a rally suspension with longer suspension travel, a taller seat height, handlebar risers, and a taller visor too. It also has a slightly longer wheelbase and 50mm more ground clearance at 270mm, making it the perfect off-road machine.
If you are someone who loves to go on adventures and isn’t afraid of riding tall bikes and of punctures (as the ADV comes with spoke wheels with tube tyres), then the Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro would be the perfect match for you.
