The bike is bigger and could be more comfortable than the current-gen Vitpilen 250
A new Husqvarna bike was spotted testing and we believe it is the upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, here’s why.
A closer look at the engine reveals the exhaust routing, and the vertically aligned catalytic converter is also placed a bit forward, similar to the one in the 250 Duke. In the KTM 250 Duke, it produces 31PS at 9250rpm and 25Nm at 7250rpm. Though the engine is the same, we expect the tuning to be a bit different to make the Husqvarna stand out.
The next thing that stands out when looking at the bike is that the chassis, swingarm and suspension setup with the USD fork upfront and the side-mounted monoshock in the rear is similar to what we have seen on the 2024 KTM Duke lineup. However, the brakes are quite different from the ones used on the current Vitpilen 250, and they’re not similar to the next-gen Duke either.
The motorcycle features a few other design changes such a larger, boxier fuel tank which makes the bike feel substantially larger than the current Vitpilen 250. The seat is both longer and larger and should be capable of handling riders who are of a larger size and stature (case in point is the test rider himself). The current Husqvarna bikes are known for being cramped and uncomfortable for larger riders so the new design will be a welcome change.
Then there’s the changes made to the rear, the bike gets an extended tail section that holds the number plate and indicators, unlike the current model that holds both on the rear mudguard. We expect the production version bikes to come with a rear tyre-hugger that holds both the number plate and the indicators as the new extended tail section looks crude.
The bike comes with rear-set footpegs but with raised clip-ons. This will give the rider a relatively upright riding posture and a bit more comfortable riding experience. The current Vitpilen is also known for having an aggressive riding posture.
The bike is expected to come with a price tag of Rs 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom) with the possibility of the bike being launched by mid-2024. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 will compete with the KTM 250 Duke, the Honda CB300R and the Bajaj Dominar 250.
