The bike is called Rocket 401 and comes with a bunch of changes
Husqvarna Gangnam, a South Korean custom house has been modifying Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen models for some time now. Recently one of their builds, a 1st generation Svartpilen 401 modified into a cafe racer dubbed ‘Rocket 401’, caught our attention. It comes with a few really good looking modifications like the addition of a half-fairing to a few changes in colour. Here’s everything you need to know.
When we think of the previous generation Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, we think of a scrambler-style motorcycle with braced handlebars, a tank rack and rugged looking block pattern tyres. But for this cafe racer build, a lot has been changed on the Svartpilen 401 aside from the addition of the half fairing.
First, the bike’s scrambler style design elements have been taken out. The braced handlebars are now replaced by clip-on handlebars, giving the rider a sporty riding position. The tank brace has also been removed, making the tank panels with the 401 badging stand out even more.
The bike has also been updated with some eye-catching neon-yellow stickering. On the fairing, the headlight section has received an outlining and on the visor, there’s a 401 sticker. Moving on to the body, we can see that the 401 badging stands out thanks to the new neon-yellow outlining.
Other design bits include a pinstripe running from the top of the tank to the side panels. Lastly the tyre rims also get pinstripes as well. Overall, this build is one of the coolest ones we have seen so far.
What makes it so good is how well the fairing and design changes just go together to give this bike a unique cafe racer look without giving the feeling that this was a custom build.
We in India didn’t really have a chance to experience the previous generation Svartpilen 401 as the bike was never launched here. The Swedish manufacturer directly launched the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and the bike featured a new 399.6cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 46PS and 39Nm. We had a chance to ride the bike and here’s what we think about it.
