The new neo-retro roadster from Jawa features a sharp design that looks very attractive in the fresh palette of colours

The new 2024 Jawa 42 FJ has been launched at Rs 1,99,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new neo-retro bike is an addition to Jawa's 42 range of bikes. The bike overall has a rounded design and to complement that, it is available in 6 attractive colours: Aurora Green Matte Spoke, Aurora Green Matte, Mystique Copper, Cosmo Blue Matte, Deep Black Matte Black Clad & Deep Black Matte Red Clad. Each colour comes at a different price tag, let’s check them out in detail.

Jawa 42 FJ Aurora Green Matte Spoke

The Jawa 42 FJ in Aurora Green Matte Spoke colour is priced at Rs 1,99,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is the entry-level colour of the neo-retro roadster. The bike gets a dual-tone finish of a subtle-looking matte green colour with brushed aluminium cladding on the tank and 3D Jawa badging. The side panels are stickered with the 42 name. The fuel tank has an offset fuel cap with a 42 sticker placed under it. The engine and exhaust are finished in matte black. The headlight cowl, headlight mounts and the fork have silver accents. These combinations make the bike look very pleasing and this one has spoke wheels that add to the retro charm.

Jawa 42 FJ Aurora Green Matte Alloys

This one has the same colour as the entry-level variant except, it is fitted with diamond-cut alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres. The addition of alloy wheels bumps the price to Rs 2,10,142 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 11,000 more than the spoked variant. This variant is for buyers who are looking for the Jawa 42 FJ in matte green colour but with the convenience of alloy wheels. These make dealing with punctures an easier task than spoked wheels. The diamond-cut alloys are black with chrome accents.

Jawa 42 FJ Mystique Copper

The Jawa 42 FJ in Mystique Copper colour costs Rs 2,15,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike is finished in a dual-tone colour scheme with a copper colour and brushed aluminium finish. This colour gives the bike a proper retro look, paying tribute to the OG Jawa bikes. The fuel tank, side panels, and headlight cowl are covered in copper colour. The fuel tank has panels that get a brushed aluminium finish with a 3D Jawa logo and the name Jawa etched behind that. There’s a 42 sticker on top of the tank. The side panels feature the 42 stickers. The front and rear fenders are in brushed aluminium finish while the engine and exhaust have a matte black colour.

Jawa 42 FJ Cosmo Blue Matte

The Cosmo Blue Matte colour is priced at Rs 2,15,142 (ex-showroom Delhi) and has a similar finish as the Mystique Copper colour. The fuel tank and side panels are finished in a shade of blue and with the front and rear fenders in brushed aluminium, the bike looks really nice with a hint of its rich history.

Jawa 42 FJ Deep Black Matte Black Clad

Moving to the premium range, the Deep Black Matte Black Clad colour is priced at Rs 2,20,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). This colour gives the bike an aggressive and intense look. Overall, the bike is finished in a matte black colour. Something that Batman would dig into, if he were into neo-retro-style roadster bikes.

Jawa 42 FJ Deep Black Matte Red Clad

The Deep Black Matte Red Clad colour costs Rs 2,20,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). It looks quite youthful because of its matte black appeal with a tinge of red. Overall, the bike is finished in matte black. The fuel tank panels are in red and have ‘Jawa’ and ‘42’ stickers.  There are only a few shiny bits, like the fork, headlight mounts and fuel cap, on the bike.

With the addition of the Jawa 42 FJ to the lineup, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles is opening up more options to buyers on the hunt for a neo-retro roadster. It is powered by the same 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Alpha2 engine from the recently updated Jawa 350. The engine makes 29.2PS and 29.6Nm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. The 42 FJ rivals other retro-style roadsters like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda H’ness CB350, Honda CB350 RS and the Hero Mavrick 440.
