The upcoming Apache RR 310 could be much faster than the current gen bike
TVS Motors recently sent us an invite for the 2024 Apache RR 310 launch, set to take place on September 16, 2024. The invite also includes a teaser which has given us a good hint as to what we can expect from the updated Apache RR 310.
The teaser shows that the race spec bike has set a new record at Chang Circuit, Thailand, achieving a top speed of 215.9kmph and a lap time of 1:49.742s or 1 minute and 49.742 seconds. This shows a significant improvement in terms of performance that the brand has been able to extract out of the 312.2cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine in a race tune.
The learnings from this are likely to be transferred to the upcoming road-spec TVS Apache RR 310, and the bike could see a bump in performance. It could now be at par with the TVS Apache RTR 310. The Apache RTR 310, for perspective, uses the same engine which produces 35.6PS and 28.7Nm, which is 1.6PS and 1.4Nm more than the Apache RR 310.
Recently, we also got to see spy shots of the 2024 Apache RR 310 being tested and it has revealed a few bits about the bike’s design. The upcoming bike will feature winglets mounted on its fairing., This will give the bike a more aggressive look overall and could help with the aerodynamics as well.
In terms of features, we believe the 2024 Apache RR 310 could get a few features that were added on the TVS Apache RTR 310. The bike could now offer traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, cornering traction control and more. The Apache RTR 310 also offers 4 riding modes – Rain, Urban, Track, & Sport – we can expect the same on the 2024 Apache RR 310.
Currently, the Apache RR 310 comes with a 5-inch vertical TFT console with smartphone connectivity and related features such as call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. There’s also updates on vehicle health, status reports and post-ride analysis offered as well.
The updated Apache RR 310 could be launched at a price that is around Rs 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go up against other supersport offerings in the 300-400cc segment such as the KTM RC 390, BMW G 310 RR, and the Keeway K300R.
