For 2018, the off-road event is said to have a participation of over 800 off-road enthusiasts
The 2018 edition of Pune’s off-road expedition is all set to kick-off on the 19 Aug (Sunday) at Panshet Dam. The event will commence at 9am and will go on till 5pm. A participation fee of Rs 600 (per head) will be applicable which includes refreshments, lunch, a participation certificate and some event merchandise.
Like every motorcycling event, safety is priority, hence, participants are required to carry essential gear such as a certified full-face helmet, gloves, riding jacket/armour, riding pants or knee & elbow pads, and ankle length boots. We would also suggest you carry your raincoats and an extra set of clothes to change into, once the event is over.
The event, which takes place in the wilderness of the Sahyadri mountain range, will witness over 800 off-road enthusiasts participating this year, on both motorcycles and four-wheel-drive cars. You are required to get your own vehicle for the event - and it could be anything from a Hero Splendor Pro to a Jeep Wrangler.
The challenging 50km course will have riders and drivers alike facing constant rainfall, water crossings, knee-deep slush and slippery terrains before ending the ride with a late afternoon lunch coupled with some live music.
