The first month of the year brought a bunch of exciting products ranging from small-capacity scooters, mid-capacity motorcycles and even EVs
Missed out on two-wheeler action this month? We're here to help! You see, there’s no better way to do so than to catch up on everything that’s happened in the first month of 2023. And there were a few notable launches in the two-wheeler industry which made us, two-wheeler fanatics, quite happy. Here’s a lowdown onto all of them:
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
Nearly three years after it was first spotted, India finally got the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. The bike not only looks every bit premium, but also flaunts a lot of firsts for any Royal Enfield bike. We got a chance to even sample the bike through the dunes of Rajasthan and here’s what we liked and what we didn’t about it.
Honda Activa H-Smart
The Honda Activa 6G finally got an update but it wasn’t the much-needed overhaul we wanted it to be. The evergreen scooter, instead, got a new, safer variant, packing a range of tech, while retailing at a decent premium. Here’s everything that’s different on the new variant as compared to the standard one.
Hero Xoom 110
Hero finally gave us the sporty Xoom 110. Aggressive looks, slew of features and a mouth-watering price tag, this scooter could be a Honda Dio killer! More details about it in our launch story. You can have a detailed look at it in images here.
Keeway SR 250
Keeway launched the SR 250, its latest retro-style scrambler at the Auto Expo 2023. While it packs a rather simple 223cc air-cooled engine, it’s been priced on par with the likes of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
Ather 450X Gen 3.0 Updated
The Ather 450X, a personal favourite of quite some of the boys at BikeDekho got a much-needed overhaul this month. One of India’s sportiest e-scooter got better looks, is more feature-packed and promises to be more comfortable.
Joy e-Bike Mihos
After teasing us about its launch earlier, Joy e-bike launched its electric scooter Mihos at Auto Expo 2023. Priced at Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom), this scooter makes 95Nm at the wheel along with a claimed top speed of 95kmph, a claimed range of 100km; and has a slew of features like regenerative braking, reverse mode, smartphone connectivity and more.
EMotorad e-Bikes
Electric-bicycle manufacturer EMotorad took the word ‘premium e-bikes’ to a whole new level by launching the Nighthawk and Desert Eagle, both of which are priced at Rs 4.79 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively! From smooth middleweight supersports to mad electric bikes, here’s everything you can buy instead of the insanely expensive EMotorad Nighthawk. Alongside, the brand also launched its more ‘affordable’ range of bikes priced from Rs 24,999 onwards.
Firefox Urban Eco
Indian cycle manufacturer Firefox gave us its first ever electric bike. It not only offers a range of upto 90km (with pedal assist), but it also became India’s first app-controlled electric bike.
