Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the highly-anticipated Classic 650 at the EICMA 2024. The new 650cc retro-roadster comes in four different dual-tone paint schemes: Black Chrome, Bluntingthorpe Blue, Vallam Red and Teal.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: How does it look?
The all-new Royal Enfield Classic 650 features a retro-roadster design, identical to the smaller Royal Enfield Classic 350. It gets a similar round LED headlight, a chrome headlight ring, round indicators, mirrors, fenders, fork covers, and the tear drop-shaped fuel tank. The fuel tank features the usual 2D Royal Enfield logo, but the Vallam Red comes with a funky logo in handwriting font which was trademarked by the brand earlier this year. The two-piece seat is also the same as the Classic. Moreover, the Classic 650’s side panels, tail section, and spoke wheels also look very similar to the 350cc roadster. The smaller Classic 350 has a single peashooter exhaust whereas the new Classic 650 features a dual peashooter exhaust.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: What does it get?
Based on the same platform as the other 650cc Royal Enfield bikes, the Classic 650 gets a slightly tweaked 647.95cc, air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 47.6PS and 52.3Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 gets the same semi-digital instrument console as the Classic 350 that shows the speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, and other important info. It also gets an optional navigation tripper pod that brings smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation. The bike also has a USB charging port.
The Classic 650 gets a similar steel tubular frame as the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. It is equipped with a 43mm telescopic fork with fork covers (120mm travel) and twin rear shocks (90mm travel). The braking setup consists of a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The new Classic 650 has 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels, with 100-section front and 140-section rear tyres. It has a seat height of 800mm and a ground clearance of 154mm. The 650cc roadster has a 14.3-litre fuel tank and weighs 243kg (kerb).
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Expected Launch Date & Price
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to launch in India at the Royal Enfield’s Motoverse motorcycle festival, at Goa in November 2024. It is expected to be priced at around Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It goes up against the other 650cc roadsters like the BSA Gold Star 650 and the Kawasaki Z650RS, which is significantly more expensive than the Classic 650.
