After months of anticipation, Aprilia has finally unveiled the Aprilia Tuono 660. It shares the innards with the Aprilia RS 660 sport bike and will serve in the mid-capacity segment.
The overall design and styling for the Aprilia Tuono 660 have been inherited from the Aprilia Tuono 1100. It features a triple-LED headlight with DRLs, minimal fairing, yoke-mounted handlebar for a relaxed riding posture and a practical pillion seat. When it comes to the rider aids, the Tuono 660 is loaded with goodies such as multi-level traction control, anti-wheelie, cruise control, selectable engine maps, cornering ABS and five different riding modes, of which three are for the road and two for the track. All of this can be operated on a full TFT display. Interested in the Aprilia RS 660? Head here
The Tuono 660 houses a 659cc, parallel-twin motor with a 270-degree crank. It pumps out 96.3PS of power and 66Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. The Tuono 660’s aluminium frame uses the engine as a stressed member. It is suspended on a 41mm Kayaba USD fork and monoshock, both with preload and rebound adjustability. Braking on the Tuono 660 is handled by dual 320mm discs at the front with Brembo radially-mounted 4-piston callipers and a 220mm disc at the rear. We expect Aprilia to launch the Tuono 660 in India by the Q3 of 2021 as a CBU, pricing it at around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
