Ather 450X To Get Even Better Range

Homologation documents have revealed details of the higher range variant, and the company has announced festive service offers too
Ather is gearing up to roll out a new variant of the 450X, according to a homologation document that has surfaced online. The new scooter dubbed the 450X HR with the ‘HR’ potentially standing for ‘High Range’
The upcoming electric scooter variant will be powered by a 3.66kWh capacity battery pack and will get a claimed range of 158km, which is 8km more than what the current 450X 3.7kWh variant has. This increase in range can be attributed to the revised throttle maps and coasting regen similar to what we saw in the Ather 450S. This variant produces a peak power 6.4kW which is the same as that produced by the 450X 3.7kWh variant.
The upcoming scooter’s dimensions are quite similar to that of the 450X, the wheelbase, width and height being the same but there’s a small difference in the length. The new variant is shorter by 54mm and comes to 1837mm. The scooter gets five riding modes: Wrap, Sport, Ride, Smart Eco and Eco.
In other news, Ather has announced a nationwide service camp from November 1st to November 10th, offering customers a free 15-point inspection, 10 percent discounts on labour charge and a 5% discount on parts. This complements the company’s recent announcement of festive offers.
The 450X HR is expected to come at a slightly higher price than the current 450X which is priced at Rs 1,44,921(ex-showroom Bengaluru). The new variant will compete with existing models like the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Simple One, TVS X along with the upcoming TVS iQube ST.
