The company plans to add 820 more by the end of FY23
There is a clear short supply of EV fast-charging stations in India. Brands like Ather Energy are looking to change that, and have announced the installation of its 580th Ather fast-charging grid today. Ather now has a footprint spanning across 56 cities in India, possibly making it the only premium e-scooter maker to have so many active fast charging points across the nation.
Additionally, Ather has expressed a plan of establishing 820 more fast-charging grids by the end of March 2024, taking its overall count up to 1400 fast-charging points. Furthermore, this fast charging network can be accessed by all compatible electric two-wheelers and four-wheelers, and this facility is being offered for free till the end of this year.
Another bold move from Ather has been its decision to make its fast-charging technology an open standard for all OEMs. The newly launched Vida V1 became the first e-scooter to adopt the same, allowing all future Vida V1 owners to charge their e-scooters at Ather’s fast-charging points. How convenient is that?
But here’s the best part we appreciate a lot about Ather: it has installed nearly sixty percent of these chargers in tier-2 and tier-3 cities along with metros. Accessibility for all. With the Gen3, the company has improved the range of the Ather 450X. Check out what we liked and disliked about the updated electric scooter.
