Ather Energy Opens First Showroom In Mysore

Ather expands its footprint by opening its third experience centre in Karnataka

• Ather has inaugurated its new retail outlet in Mysore in association with Honnassiri Energy Pvt Ltd.
• The brand has a total of twenty showrooms in the country.
• Ather offers the 450X and the 450 Plus at Rs 1,44,500 and Rs 1,25,490 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) respectively.
• There are currently four Ather fast-charging stations in Mysore, though the company is planning to add 8-10 more in the near future.

Ather Energy, in association with Honnassiri Energy Pvt Ltd, has inaugurated its first experience centre in Mysore. The new retail outlet is located at Hunsur Road, Hinkal and it's the third showroom for the electric scooter manufacturer in Karnataka. The Bengaluru-based startup has a total of twenty retail outlets in the country and is planning to be in three to four more cities in Karnataka by the end of this year. 

To reduce range anxiety among customers, the brand has already set up a total of four fast-charging stations (called Ather Grid) in Mysore, at Hinkal, Nazarbad Mohalla, Gokulam Road and Vijaya Nagar.. The company is further planning to add eight to ten more charging points in the city to strengthen the charging network.

The revised FAME II policy and other government initiatives to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles in the country has not only made EV's more affordable but has also increased awareness about the same. Besides, taking into account the increased demand for electric scooters in the country, this new dealership shall further help Ather acquire a new set of customers. 

Ather Energy had also recently announced that its proprietary charging connector is open for sharing with other EV makers. Currently, the company has over 200 fast-charging stations in the country. Hence, this sharing of charging infrastructure with other EV manufacturers will not only save the infrastructure cost, but will also speed up the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

Ather Energy at the moment offers the 450X, along with a more affordable iteration, the 450 Plus. The electric scooter is available in three colour options (white, space grey and mint green). Of these, the Ather 450X is powered by a 2.9KWh Lithium-ion battery and propelled by a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Other notable features on the electric scooter include all-LED lights, reverse assist, riding modes, and a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity and navigation. Post FAME II revision, the Ather 450X is priced at Rs 1,44,500 while the 450 Plus retails at Rs 1,25,490 (both ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
