Now we have a better look at the upcoming e-scooter
(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)
Anubhav Bassi, a standup comedian took to social media to tease the upcoming family scooter from Ather Energy, the Ather Rizta. He shared a post on Instagram with the caption “Yeh hai mera naya #Rizta.”
So far we had only seen small glimpses of the scooter from teasers dropped by the CEO of Ather, Tarun Mehta and spyshots of the scooter while it was being tested. The photo shared by Anubhav Bassi has given us a better look at the scooter.
Judging by the image shared, it is clear that the Ather Rizta will come with a typical family scooter like design. It gets a boxy styling with apron mounted headlights and indicators. It also comes with a spacious floorboard, large seat and chunky pillion grabrail. Another thing that has to be pointed out is that the scooter in the image doesn’t have a foldable pillion footrest, which could mean that Ather is only offering it as an additional accessory and not a standard feature.
Coming to the powertrain, we expect the Ather Rizta to match the Ather 450S in terms of battery and range. For reference, the Ather 450S comes with a 2.9kWh battery pack with a certified range of 115km. Ather is likely to launch a bigger battery variant of the Rizta later. This will be beneficial to budget buyers while also allowing Ather to target buyers who are looking to buy the top-of-the-line variant.
Features wise, the upcoming family scooter will likely get the same instrument console as the 450S. Which is an LCD unit with smartphone connectivity. The electric scooter will also come with riding modes.

The Rizta is expected to be launched around late 2024 or early 2025, with an ex-showroom price that is around Rs 1.30 lakh (including FAME 2 subsidy). Once launched the Rizta will compete with other electric scooters in the market such as the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro and the Bajaj Chetak.
