Bajaj Auto sales increased 62 percent in may 2010

Bajaj Auto, one of the largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has posted a robust sales growth in the last month, total two-wheeler sales jumped by 62 percent to 185,341 vehicles in last year to 299,442 units in May 2010. Bajaj Auto's Motorcycles sales were 269,488 units and scooter sales were at 648, total sales has been reported to 63 percent. Bajaj Auto India has targeted to grow its motorcycle sales by up to 50 percent in this current fiscal year with average sales of 3 lakh motorbikes a month from starting May. During the last month, the company exported 95,964 units of two-wheelers, an increase of 64 percent over the period of same month. The commercial vehicle sales registered by 52 percent at 29,954 units from the 185,341 units sold in May 2009. During the current financial year, the company's overall sales has increased by 73 percent at 612,914 units of two-wheelers within the two months. In the last month, Bajaj Auto introduced a new version of Bajaj Discover with 150cc displacement. New Bajaj Discover 150cc is available at a price tag of Rs. 46,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The company's flagship motorcycles Pulsar and Discover has tremendously reported a 68 percent of the motorcycle sales. The all variants of Bajaj Discover has sold 107,076 units and Pulsar 75,974 units in the Indian auto market. On the other hand, India Yamaha Motors, one of the leading two-wheeler maker, is ready to launch its new products range including Yamaha SZ and Yamaha YZF R125.
