Bajaj Discover 100 4G is a 100 cc motorcycle by Bajaj Auto is set to hit the market. Dubbed as the Discover 100 4G; and no! 4G does not mean that you get any sort of high speed mobile communication ability, 4G simply stands for four gears. So the vehicle, previously featuring five gears will now feature only four with one gear chucked out. The removal of a gear also results in the removal of Rs. 19,000 from the eventual price of the two-wheeler. The move to reduce the number of gears from the Discover comes with the intentions to increase the sales of the bike in the commuter segment. This also shows that the company is not taking it easy after overtaking Honda in terms of sales last month and is continuing to innovate and rejuvenate their strategies in order to maintain their lead.

This move would allow the company to restrict Honda from regaining the number 2 slot and one can also look at it as a aggressive marketing ploy for Discover as it would be going head to head against the Honda Dream Yuga. The battle should be neck and neck and the who wins in terms of sales would be the deciding factor as to who overtakes whom.
As far as the bike is concerned, not many changes have been implemented other than the elimination of cog. Discover 100 will continue to be backed by the same technical specifications as before including the DTS-si 2.0 engine that gives a 7.5 BHP of peak power and runs at 7500 RPM. The two-wheeler gives a peak torque of 7.85 Nm at 5000 RPM. Bajaj Discover weighs 115 grams and is powered by a 94.38 cc engine. The bike could prove to be a popular choice among the middle class consumers who are looking for a economical bike in terms of mileage.
