The Bajaj Platina 100 ES disc variant has started reaching dealerships across India. There’s no word on its official launch date, which is quite customary for Bajaj when it comes to smaller models. That said, we have managed to get our hands on the price of the bike. The Bajaj Platina 100 ES disc variant will be priced at Rs 59,757 (ex-showroom Pune), which is a price hike of Rs 3,827 over the standard Electric Start variant. The extra dough gets you better safety features and a couple of cosmetic updates.
For starters, the indicators on the Platina ES 100 disc brake variant comes with black masking which makes it look a bit slimmer and sleeker than before. The tank now features a tank protector which prevents damages such as scuff marks and paint chips from your belt buckle or zipper. The last update is the disc brake up front which comes with ASB (Anti Skid Braking) as standard, thereby improving safety. Apart from this, the bike remains unchanged.
The Platina 100 is powered by a BS6-compliant 102cc single-cylinder engine that comes with an e-carb. It’s tuned to produce 7.9PS at 7500rpm and 8.34Nm at 5500rpm. The gearbox is a 4-speed transmission. The Bajaj Platina 100 goes up against the Hero Splendor Plus and TVS Star City Plus. But if you consider its price, it also takes on the Hero HF Deluxe.
