A few days ago, Bajaj gave the Pulsar 180 its biggest design makeover yet. The 2019 version of the bike was spotted with the Pulsar 220F’s design and a new moniker: Bajaj Pulsar 180F. While there has been no official word from Bajaj regarding the pricing, few dealers have confirmed it be around Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). Now, latest spy shots reveal that the motorcycle has started arriving at dealerships for test rides and bookings.
Speaking of which, the 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 180F can be booked for Rs 1,000, with deliveries starting as early as next week. But before you grab your cheque book, here’s something you need to know. The Pulsar 180F borrows its design from its older sibling, the Pulsar 220F with its half fairing and projector headlamps. This doesn’t come as a surprise considering the Pulsar 220F has been one of the most iconic motorcycles of its generation and still continues to be a major pull, especially in urban and semi-urban areas.
Powering the motorcycle is still the same 178.6cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 17.02PS of power and 14.22Nm of torque. Suspension duties are carried out by the same conventional telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking hardware consists of a 260mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.
Bajaj is yet to equip the Pulsar 180 with ABS, which comes as a surprise considering the looming 1 April 2019 deadline. The lack of any mechanical changes may seem disappointing, but it helps Bajaj in keeping the prices down. This should help someone who wants the appeal of the bigger Pulsar on a budget. However, we recommend waiting till the ABS variant is launched. The Bajaj Pulsar 180F goes against the TVS Apache RTR 180.
