To know how the largest Pulsar stands against its fully faired sibling, check out a detailed image comparison here
Bajaj Auto recently launched the Pulsar F250 in the Indian market. The semi-faired motorcycle gets the biggest engine in the Pulsar lineup till date. The Pune-based automaker also has a fully faired model on offer, called the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Although the RS200 isn't powered by a 250cc engine, it still churns out almost the same power as the Pulsar F250. Are you confused between the two? Let us simplify.
The Bajaj Pulsar F250 is a semi-faired model, while the RS200 gets full fairing. While the Pulsar F250 gets a slim design, the RS200 looks quite tall and beefy. Both the bikes come equipped with clip-on handlebars, a split-type seat and an underbelly pan. Also, the Pulsar F250 gets a bigger 14-litre tank as compared to the 13-litre unit found on the RS200.
Talking about the front fascia, while the Bajaj Pulsar F250 gets a single projector and twin boomerang-shaped LED DRL's, the RS200 gets dual projectors and twin LED DRLs. Both the bikes also get fairing-mounted mirrors and a wide windscreen.

Both motorcycles boast a semi-digital instrument cluster that looks almost the same in terms of design, though the F250 gets a negatively lit screen while the RS200 gets a blue backlit one. However, both of them miss out on Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The Pulsar F250, for its part, does get additional details such as a gear position indicator, real-time fuel efficiency and range.
The Pulsar F250 is powered by a brand new 249.07cc air-cooled engine (with an oil cooler) that puts out 24.5PS and 21.5Nm. Meanwhile, at the heart of the Pulsar RS200 sits a 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine that produces the same power output (24.5PS) but 2.8Nm less torque (18.7Nm). Additionally, the Pulsar RS200 features a six-speed gearbox whereas the F250 sports a 5-speed unit. However, the F250 gets the benefit of a slipper clutch.
The ride on both the motorcycles is taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking hardware is also identical - a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear, though the difference here is that while the Pulsar F250 comes equipped with single-channel ABS, the RS200 gets a dual-channel setup. For shorter riders, though, the Pulsar F250 might seem like a better option, as its 795mm seat height is 15mm lower than the RS200.
The Bajaj Pulsar F250 is priced at Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in colours: Red and Grey. On the other hand, the Pulsar RS200 is priced at Rs 1,63,198 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is offered in a total of three multi-colour combinations: Red/White, White/Black and Grey/Black.
