The Bajaj Pulsar F250 and Pulsar N250 broke cover yesterday in India. With the addition of the quarter-litre twins, the Pulsar lineup now offers an even wider spectrum of models price-wise. For reference, the NS200 and the 220F are priced within Rs 5,000 - Rs 7,000 of the Pulsar 250s. So, what does each one have in store?
Design
With the Pulsar F250 being the elder sibling of the 220F, it was only fitting for the bike to sport a half-fairing. The F250 looks quite sporty while being practical, and its aggressive front fascia packs a neat-looking LED projector light with LED DRLs. The 220F is still a charmer despite the decade-old design.

As for the Pulsar N250 and the NS200, it’s pretty much the same story. The former’s new fascia is indeed a fresh addition, and it has a sporty demeanour with a modern touch. Meanwhile, the NS200 still uses the same design since its inception and gets the almost-archaic halogen headlamp. Overall, all four bikes look pretty butch.
Engine
Design and ergonomics-wise, the Pulsar F250 and 220F are similar. The former makes the most power and this should make it a decent offering for commuting as well as spirited riding while not costing a bomb. And if naked bikes are what you fancy, know that the Pulsar N250 and NS200 make the same power. However, the latter gets slightly more advanced components like the liquid cooling system. So, if you are looking for a sporty yet practical commuter, the Pulsar N250 is certainly a decent choice.
Underpinnings
All four Pulsars get pretty much the same suspension setup, except the 220F. But, the NS200 weighs 6kg less than the N250 and 8kg less than the F250. Single-channel ABS is standard throughout.
Features
The largest Pulsars get LED illumination and a USB charging port. On the other hand, the 220F and the NS200 miss out on both. All four are equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster, but the F250 and N250 also get a gear position indicator.
Price and Verdict
The asking prices of all four are almost similar, with the new models costing a few thousand rupees more while offering a new design, more features, and better output figures. So, we reckon going for the Pulsar F250 or the N250 would be a smart choice.
