We list three possibilities of what Bajaj’s first twin-cylinder bike could be
Bajaj has filed a trademark for the name 'Twinner', piquing curiosity about what the new bike could be. While nothing about the motorcycle itself is known, this could very well be Bajaj's first twin-cylinder motorcycle based on KTM's upcoming 490 engine.
Given that KTM intends to make a supersport, a naked, an ADV, and a supermoto using the 490 platform, we reckon Bajaj might step into genres the Austrian marque won't.
Bajaj currently doesn't have any neo-retro motorcycle in its lineup, and given the world's fascination with the genre, the bikemaker could budge. Also, with no competition in the segment at the moment, a fast, twin-cylinder neo-retro motorcycle seems an excellent place to start.

But then again, not utilising a twin-cylinder's refinement and performance for long-distance touring would be a shame. The Bajaj Twinner could end up being a highway tourer with relaxed ergos and tour-friendly equipment, essentially a bigger version of the Dominar 400.
With scramblers back in vogue, will Bajaj take that route with the Twinner? It certainly could. The frantic nature we usually associate KTM engines with is a great fit for this format. This is another segment Bajaj has stayed away from, and given the country's newfound love for offroad-friendly machines, this would be an exciting proposition.
The KTM 490 platform is expected to make its public debut by the end of this year, so we expect the Bajaj Twinner's unveiling to follow soon after. Be it a neo-retro motorcycle, a tourer, or a scrambler, the Indian bikemaker's first twin-cylinder bike will definitely stir the market.
