Bajaj Auto has silently launched the V15 in Maharashtra at a price of Rs. 63,160 (ex-showroom, Pune). The bookings for the bike had already started earlier with a minimum token amount of Rs. 1,100. Bajaj will gradually launch the bike in other parts of the country and the deliveries will commence next month. The machine has generated a huge amount of hype as it has been made from the metal of Indian warship hero - INS Vikrant. As per reports, Bajaj purchased a total of three metric tonne of metal for this purpose and has used it in the fuel tank of the motorcycle.
Powering the bike is a 149.5cc, four-stroke engine that has been linked to a five-speed transmission. The motor develops a maximum power of 11.83bhp at 7,500rpm with a peak torque of 13Nm at 5,500rpm. Built on a double cradle frame, the V15 has been equipped with telescopic forks at the front along with twin gas-charged hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The braking duties are carried out by 240mm disc brake up front and 130mm drum brake at the rear.
Bajaj V15 sports a stylish headlamp section integrated with twin pilot lamps. The fuel tank receives an INS Vikrant insignia to highlight the message of patriotism Bajaj wants to convey through this machine. A removable rear body cowl and an LED tail lamp are other features that upgrade the value of this bike. At such a price, the V15 definitely stands among the top contenders for one of the best-selling 150cc motorcycles in future. Stay tuned for more updates!
