QJ Motors’ latest offering will be sold as the Benelli 600RR in export markets, including India
- It’s based on the QJ Motors SRK 600.
- Powered by the same 600cc inline four-cylinder engine.
- Features include full LED lights, quick-shifter, keyless ignition and a 5-inch colour TFT console.
QJ Motors, Benelli’s sister company, has officially taken the wraps off the SRG 600, which will most likely be rebadged for export markets as the Benelli 600RR. The upcoming Benelli will probably be offered in two variants with different underpinnings as was seen in the earlier spy shots.
The SRG600 a.k.a Benelli 600RR shares the same chassis and engine as the recently launched SRK600 (2020 Benelli TNT 600). The engine produces 81PS at 11,000rpm and 55Nm of peak torque at 8000rpm. Expect the engine to be Euro 5/BS6-compliant. QJ Motors has also thrown in a quickshifter to spice things up. However, it only works for clutchless upshifts.
The two variants on offer come equipped with a silver upside-down fork and J Juan brake calipers, or golden KYB upside-down fork and Brembo calipers, while a trellis frame holds everything together.
Other notable features include full LED lights, keyless ignition and a 5-inch colour TFT console with an adaptable display. Even the handlebar switchgear is backlit.
Expect the 600RR which will be based on the SRK600 to be part of Benelli's expansion plans for India, which means we could expect the bike to make it to Indian shores shortly. If and when it does arrive, we expect it to be priced around Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom), which will put it squarely against the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
