BMW aiminag for half century!

BMW Motorrad, an arm of German auto major BMW, is aiming to hit its first half century in India by selling 50 superbikes here this year. BMW superbikes are famous in international market and now this giant has entered in this world's second largest two wheeler market for the second time. Presently the company includes six superbikes in its Indian stable that fall in the price range of between Rs. 18-25 lakh.
The engine displacement of all the BMW bikes starts from 1000cc along with high technology loaded with features. All the BMW bikes were introduced in the month of January this year and since launch the company could sold 23 BMW bikes in India. It is reported that BMW bikes are getting buzz response from Indian customers. After getting this kind of overwhelming response, the company sets the target of selling 50 units by the end of this year which looks quite possible.
BMW Motorrad has two dealerships, one in New Delhi and the other one is in Mumbai, the bikes are directly imported from Germany. Deutsche Motoren and Navnit Motors are selling these bikes in India. As per dealers report BMW S1000 RR and BMW R1200 GS are the most sought after bikes model in the domestic market. Meanwhile other models like BMW R1200R, BMW K1300, BMW K1600 GTL and BMW HP2 are also in good demand.
BMW Motorrad is also mulling over to launch its assembly plant in India following to Harley Davidson, KTM, Ducati and Hyosung. If the company opens its assembly plant here, all the BMW bikes will become cheaper than CBU BMW bikes.
