After making successful debut in Indian two-wheeler market by launching wide range of six super BMW Bikes during early months of this year, BMW Motorrad- the division of German auto company- is now speculating to launch below 1000 cc engine equipped BMW Bikes in Indian two wheeler market by the beginning of next year. As BMW Motorrad does not have wide network in India, it sells BMW bikes through its two dealers located in Mumbai and Delhi to whom these bikes are sent via CBU route from Berlin. The rumours of BMW Motorrad launching 1000 cc bikes in India was also confirmed by Mr. Sharad Kachalia, Managing Director of Navnit Motors, one of the dealer of BMW Bikes in India. The expected BMW Bikes from BMW Motorrad are BMW X3, BMW G650GS and BMW F800 R.
With launch of 1000 cc BMW Bikes in Indian two wheeler market, BMW Motorrad speculates to capture the market of bikes under segment of 450cc to 500 cc. According to Mr. Kachalia, Indian two- wheeler market has noticed regular demand of superbikes within country and company intends to grab this situation. Excited with the sales statistics of BMW Bikes during their first year of existence Mr. Kachalia informed that company targeted to sale 50 BMW Bikes in Indian market and has succeeded in selling almost BMW Bikes so far and expects to meet target by end of this year with still two and half months ahead.
Although company is excited with its speculations of launching new 1000 cc BMW bikes in Indian market but to establish its dominance in Indian Bike market it will have to concentrate on pricing policy of its bikes as the price of superbikes sold by Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki is quite lesser than as offered for BMW Bikes. If BMW Motorrad succeeds in deciding compatible price for its bikes it will definitely rule over the hearts of Indian bike riders. At present the company sales BMW K, BMW R, BMW S and BMW K1300S series bikes in India.
