BMW Definition CE 04 Electric Scooter Unveiled

The concept is the Bavarian brand’s idea of future of urban mobility

BMW Motorrad has done it again. The Bavarian brand has pulled the wraps off another stunning concept, called the Definition CE 04. This electric scooter is the brand’s idea of the future of urban mobility that can be the link between the analogue and digital worlds of the user. At the moment, the company hasn’t revealed the specifications or commented if and when it will make it to production. However, one thing that the company is sure of, is that the Definition CE 04 will redefine the scooter segment.

By the looks of it, BMW seems rather serious about its statement. The Definition CE 04’s design is nowhere close to a conventional scooter design, courtesy the elongated, low stance of the vehicle. 

The battery pack is placed under the floorboard which not only results in a favourable centre of gravity but also gives ample storage space, something in sync with BMW’s urban mobility motto. The floating, bench-like seat is also quite low, making it accessible to riders of all sizes. 

Another highlight of the concept is the massive 10.25-inch screen that can sync with the rider’s smartphone. This is the largest display seen on a scooter yet and BMW aims to utilise it as a bridge between the rider’s analogue and digital worlds. For this, the brand has also envisioned an entire range of riding gear that not only compliment the scooter but also offer protection. The parka comes with some interesting features like an inductive phone charging system and guided light stripes across the sleeves and hood for increased visibility.

While the Definition CE 04 is still a concept, knowing BMW, it won’t be long before the scooter arrives in production guise. From the Concept 101 that took the form of K1600 Bagger to the 9Cento that transformed into the F 900 XR and more recently the R 18 cruiser, BMW Motorrad has brought marvellous concepts to life without losing the essence of the concept. We hope that tradition continues with the Definition CE 04 as well.
