The F 900 R and XR models will be launched in India on May 21
While most manufacturers rolled out their first BS6 models many months ago, BMW Motorrad is yet to open its BS6 innings in India. It’s now about to do just that, though, because the Bavarian manufacturer has given us an India launch date for the new F 900 R and F 900 XR. Local pricing for the pair will be announced on May 21.
Considering that these bikes are built in China (or at least were, before everything went down), we can expect some reasonably attractive pricing for the pair. Expect them to fall in the Rs 12 lakh to 14 lakh price bracket once launched. And considering that they use a slightly tweaked version of the motor used in the F 750 GS and F 850 GS, BS6 updates for those two motorcycles shouldn’t be too far away either.
The pair of 900s was unveiled at EICMA last year, and the R is a naked roadster while the XR is a street-oriented adventure tourer. The latter actually traces its roots back to the Concept 9cento shown at BMW’s 2018 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este event. Both models will most likely also come with a Pro variant that features electronically adjustable rear suspension.
