BMW Motorrad unveiled its entry-level ADV, the G 310 GS, in its BS6 guise days before its official launch. It gets a number of updates which are expected to be featured on the G 310 R as well. This includes subtle design updates, LED lights all around, ride-by-wire throttle, slipper clutch and adjustable brake and clutch levers. You also have new colours to choose from. The baby GS, for instance, comes in three new shades: white/grey, new Rallye colours and the commemorative “40 Years” edition. Bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 50,000.
Thankfully, there’s no drop in performance. Both bikes continue to make 34PS at 9,500rpm and 28Nm at 7,500rpm through the 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. Welcomed additions include a slip-and-assist clutch for lighter clutch actuation and ride-by-wire for precise throttle inputs. The changes sure did make the TVS Apache RR 310 much smoother and the same is expected from the Bavarian twins. The motor also features GTT (Glide Through Traffic).
Expect a significant price cut for the new bikes -- something on the lines of Rs 30,000 less than the BS4 models.
