BMW Motorrad Creates Sales Record for 2015 in USA

BMW Motorrad USA recently announced that it has set a new sales record. The company sold 16,330 units in 2015 as compared to 14,945 sold in 2014, recording a growth of 9.3%. It's offering, S 1000 RR Supersports bike led the pack accounting for 13.3% of total sales in the year. This bike was also seen in the movie, Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation. Some other models that boosted BMW’s sales are R 1200 GS Adventure and R 1200 GS accounting for 12.2% and 11.5% of total sales respectively. Also, S 1000 R power roadster and S 1000 XR Adventure had a decent sales record in 2015.

Speaking on record sales in 2015, Kris Odwarka, Vice President, BMW Motorrad USA, said, “New and loyal customers; a broad, continuously enhanced model lineup; a high-performing dealer network; and accolades from the motorcycle press contributed to record growth for BMW Motorcycles in the United States, BMW Motorrad’s strongest export market.”

BMW Motorrad is having a partnership with India-based two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS, and its latest offering, G 310 R is being produced in India at a TVS facility and will share the service network with the upcoming Apache RTR 200. The much awaited motorcycle from TVS has been revealed after being spied for several times. The motorcycle will feature a 197.75cc, four-stroke, air-cum-oil cooled engine that comes mated to a 5-speed transmission and generates 20.23bhp of maximum power with 18.1Nm of peak torque.
