BMW Motorrad witnessed 7.8 percent sales hike in the month of September 2014. The company delivered 9,991 units to customers, in comparison to 9,264 units during the corresponding month last year. As of last month, company's worldwide sales touched an all-time high of 1,00,217 units, registering increase of 7.6 percent, up against 93,154 units sold in a year before.
The company showed good results in almost all operational regions during the first nine months of the year. Germany continued its dominance with 17,068 units sold during the period, followed by markets in USA, Italy, France and the UK.
In a bid to remain on course for growth, the company introduced R 1200 R, the R 1200 RS and the S 1000 RR at the INTERMOT event in Cologne. Furthermore, the brand will unveil tow new models at the November-slated international EICMA motorshow in Milan.
"For the first time in the history of BMW Motorrad we have supplied more than 100,000 vehicles to our customers in the first nine months of a year. This is an increase in sales of 7.6% as compared to the equivalent period last year," said Heiner Faust, BMW Motorrad Head of Sales and Marketing. "We are very pleased to have been named Best Manufacturer of the Year as well as winning first place with the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, the R 1200 RT and the R nineT."
