The BMW stall at the Auto Expo 2016 is displaying the latest R nineT Scrambler. This model was officially revealed at EICMA 2015 after months of speculations. According to the makers to ride a motorbike is to search for freedom and the R nineT is designed as a companion for this journey. This bike is designed to represent fun, frolic and freedom because in the decade of 1950s the scramblers were seen as the tools of choice for the free the latest spirited.
In fact by bringing in this new R nineT BMW wishes to bring back the Scrambler era and official release from the company reflects the same, “It has everything that defines this motorcycle type, filled with a very distinct spirit and created for motorcycle fans who love things that are purist, reduced to the essentials and non-conformist – combined with the technology and quality of a BMW.”
Powering the BMW R nineT is an air or oil cooled flat twin (Boxer) 1,170 cc engine featuring four radially aligned valves for each cylinder. It produces 110 bhp at 7,550 rpm and 119 Nm at 6,000 rpm and it is mated to a six-speed transmission. This bike surely looks like it will have an edge over its competition like MV Agusta Brutale, BMW F 800 GS, Mahindra Gusto 125 etc. So, stay with us to get the latest update of the expo.
