With the new-gen version, the 390 Duke evolves into an even more menacing streetfighter!

(Update: KTM has launched the 2024 390 Duke and 250 Duke at really competitive prices)

KTM has unveiled the next-gen 390 Duke, 250 Duke and 125 Duke globally and man, do they look menacing! The current 390 Duke on sale already has an aggressive design language but KTM has found a way to up the ante with the muscular tank design and bigger tank extensions. The orange colour theme might be a bit much for some people but the blue shade option gives it a sleeker look.

Here’s a comprehensive look at the 2024 390 Duke’s updates:

 - LC4c 398.7cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylidner Euro 5.2-ready engine producing 44.86PS and 39Nm
- Optimised cylinder head, larger airbox
- 6-speed gearbox
- Street, Track and Rain riding modes; segment-first launch control
- All new design, lot more aggressive headlight, revised, sharper tank extensions, redesigned 820mm seat with thicker seat foam & narrower profile. 800mm seat available as an option
- All new steel trellis frame with pressure die-cast aluminium subframe, curved cast swingarm
- 43mm WP Apex open cartridge fork, compression and rebound adjustable with 150mm wheel travel
- WP Apex Separate piston offset monoshock with 150mm wheel travel, 60mm stroke, 5-step rebound adjustable, preload adjustable as well
- Michelin radial tyres in the international-spec model, Apollos in the India-spec one
- 320mm front disc with four-piston radial fixed calliper, 240mm 2 piston floating caliper rear unit; cornering ABS with SuperMoto mode is standard
- New 5-inch TFT console with bluetooth connectivity, call & music control, turn-by-turn navigation, new switchgear with 4 way menu switches on the left handlebar

This means that the 2024 390 Duke makes 1.36PS and 2Nm more than the current-gen version. Also, the international website has the weight of the 2024 390 Duke (without fuel) at 165kg whereas the UK website of the current-gen bike has the dry weight listed at 150kg. The 390 Duke's fully-adjustable suspension setup has been confirmed for India. Also, the India-spec bike will be running on Apollo tyres. Another nifty feature that the 399cc streetfighter gets is self-cancelling indicators, which are also present on the 250 Duke and the 125 Duke as well.

The 2024 250 Duke and 125 Duke have similar design language as the 390 Duke. Both are also based on the same platform as that of the 390 Duke, so the revised trellis frame, subframe and swingarm will be carried over to those bikes as well. But, they have missed out on some of the premium features like launch control and riding modes.

The 250 Duke’s differences with the 390 Duke include a 5-inch LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/ music controls as standard, instead of the TFT unit on the 390 Duke. Also, the 250 Duke gets a non-adjustable 43mm WP APEX big-piston fork with 150mm wheel travel and a preload adjustable WP Apex emulsion monoshock with 150mm wheel travel. It gets a standard 800mm seat height with an 820mm taller seat height available as an option. The India-spec bike will be running on Vredestein Centauro tyres.

Powering it is an LC4c 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Euro 5.2-ready engine producing 31.27PS and 25Nm, which is 1.27PS and 1Nm more than the current-gen bike.

The 2024 125 Duke, on the other hand, does get the same 5-inch TFT instrument console as the 390 Duke. It gets non-adjustable WP Apex open cartridge fork with 150mm wheel travel and preload adjustable offset WP Apex monoshock with 150mm wheel travel. The 125 Duke also has an 800mm seat height with an 820mm seat as an option.

Powering it is an LC4c 124.9cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Euro 5.2-ready engine producing 14.95PS and 11.5Nm. For reference, the current-gen India-spec bike makes 14.5PS and 12Nm.

The 2024 KTM 390 Duke will likely cost Rs 3.30 lakh. In comparison, the current-gen 390 Duke costs Rs 2,97,475. The 125 Duke and 250 Duke are expected to be priced at about Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.60 lakh (all ex-showroom) respectively. While the 390 Duke and 250 Duke are likely to be launched next month, expect the 2024 125 and 200 Duke to come to India a year or so later.
