(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)
The pre-bookings for Ather Energy’s upcoming family electric scooter, the Ather Rizta has begun. Customers can book the e-scooter from Ather’s official website for a sum of Rs 999. The manufacturer will be unveiling the scooter on Ather community day, which is set to take place on April 6th, 2024.
Ather also shared more teasers throughout the day, showcasing the various features that the Rizta will come with. In the first teaser it was confirmed that the family scooter will get SMS alerts:
The other teaser talked about the scooter’s massive boot space, which is something you’d expect in a family oriented scooter.
Lastly, the scooter will also come a skid prevention feature, which could likely be single channel ABS.

The earlier teaser of the Rizta showed the e-scooter wading through knee deep water. The family electric scooter comes with a boxy design featuring apron mounted headlight and indicators, a large floorboard and also a large seat which they had teased multiple times in the past. The CEO also claimed last month that the Rizta’s seat will be the biggest in the market.
The Rizta is likely to come with a 2.9kWh battery pack similar to the one we have seen on the Ather 450S with a certified range of 115km, earlier the battery was teased in the form of a drop test and it survived a drop of 40 feet!

In terms of features, the Rizta is likely to feature the same 7-inch TFT console that is present in the Ather 450X. Moreover, the EV maker also teased the upcoming Ather Stack 6 update that will be released on Ather community day along with the Rizta’s launch. Along with this, Ather will also be unveiling the Ather Halo, a ‘smart accessory’ which we believe will likely be a smart helmet with in-built speakers.
The Rizta is expected to come at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.30 lakh. It will rival other family electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Air and Bajaj Chetak.
