New e-scoot all set for market launch on October 7
[Update: The Hero Vida V1 electric scooter has been launched in India. For pricing, features and other details, take a look at the launch report.]
In a social media post, Hero MotoCorp’s sub-brand Vida has confirmed that its very first electric scooter will be getting swappable battery tech. This development has arrived a day after the electric scooter was teased for the first time.
Almost a year after having been unveiled, the Hero Vida e-scooter is all set to be launched on October 7. Hero had partnered with leading Taiwanese electric two-wheeler brand Gogoro in April 2021, and will be using the latter’s battery swapping technology. Head here for more details on the partnership.
Swappable batteries reduce the EV’s downtime compared to conventional or fast charging. In order to have an established and smooth charging infrastructure, Hero has partnered up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). Both companies will be setting up EV chargers across the country.

While the specifications of the Hero Vida e-scooter are yet under the wraps, we do know that it will flaunt a fresh, minimalist design language which will be quite a departure from the design of Hero’s existing ICE lineup. And, in the latest teaser, the illustration of the e-scooter looks quite similar to the Gogoro S1.
Expect the Hero Vida electric scooter to come bearing a price tag of around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up against the likes of the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube Electric.
