Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Vida V2 in India and it is available in 3 variants: Lite for Rs 96,000, Plus for Rs 1,15,000 and Pro for Rs 1,35,000 (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The difference between the variants is battery capacity and performance. All the variants get removable batteries and a 7-inch TFT screen which is touch compatible. Here are alternatives you can get at the same price for the Vida V2:
TVS Raider 125
Price: From Rs 85,010 to Rs 1,04,471 (both ex-showroom, Delhi)
The TVS Raider 125 is a sporty commuter from the Hosur-based manufacturer and is one of the most popular sporty commuters in India. It is available in six variants The Raider 125 is powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which makes 11.3PS and 11.2Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Raider gets a 240mm disc brake at the front in all variants except the base which gets a 130mm drum. The rear brake is a 130mm drum in all variants. The Raider is one of the most feature loaded motorcycles in its segment with a TFT screen in the top-end variant which gives you loads of information on the go.
Ampere Nexus
Price: From Rs 1,09,900 to Rs 1,24,900 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Ampere Nexus is a family oriented electric scooter from the Indian manufacturer. It is available in two variants. The scooter is powered by a mid-mounted motor, housed inside the swingarm and makes 4kW of peak power, and has a top speed of 93kmph. The motor is mated to a 3kWh battery pack that provides a 136km claimed range. The scooter gets a 7-inch TFT screen on the top-end variant with features such as riding modes, reverse mode, turn-by-turn navigation and a lot more.
Bajaj Freedom 125
Price: From Rs 89,997 to Rs 1,09,997 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is the world’s first motorcycle which can be operated on compressed natural gas (CNG) and is available in three variants. The Freedom 125 gets a 2kg CNG tank and a 2-litre fuel tank. The total mileage returned by the motorcycle is 85km/kg from CNG and about 56kmpl on petrol in mixed riding conditions, with a total range of around 280km in the real world. The bike is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which makes 9.5PS and 9.7Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The top variant gets an LED headlight, a disc brake at the front and an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.
Ather 450S
Price: Rs 1,17,489 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Ather 450S is the most affordable electric scooter from the Bengaluru-based manufacturer. The Ather 450S is powered by a 5.4kW motor that allows the scooter to hit a claimed top speed of 90kmph, and Ather claims that the scooter is able to hit 0-40kmph in 2.9 seconds. The battery on the scooter is a 2.9kWh Lithium-ion unit that is able to provide a certified IDC range of 115km while Ather claims the scooter will return a true-world range of 90km. In terms of features, the 450S gets an LCD instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation, riding modes, theft alert, find my scooter, intercity planner, ride stats savings tracker, documents storage and a lot more through the AtherConnect App.
Bajaj Chetak
Price: From Rs 99,998 to Rs 1,40,444 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Bajaj Chetak is family oriented electric scooter which gets a vintage design with a modern twist and features. The top variant of the scooter gets a 3.2kWh battery pack which delivers a claimed range of 136km on a full charge and a claimed top-speed of 73kmph. The scooter gets a TFT screen on the top variants with smartphone connectivity, riding modes and a host of other features. Bajaj is going to launch the 2024 Chetak in a few days which is said to deliver even more range at an even more affordable price.
