Royal Enfield is set to launch its all-new cruiser next month
[Update: Royal Enfield has launched the Meteor 350 in India. Head here for the pricing and other details regarding the launch]
- The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be the brand’s first bike under the all-new J platform.
- It packs an all-new 350cc thumper engine and revised underpinnings.
- The bike also gets turn-by-turn navigation, a first for a Royal Enfield.
Royal Enfield is all set to launch its highly awaited 350cc cruiser, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, on November 6. This will herald a new direction for the brand as it is the first motorcycle to be born out of the all-new J platform. Expect the bike to be priced from around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
As per the brochures leaked earlier, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is likely to be offered in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. The top-end Supernova variant could be priced around Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it squarely against the recently launched Honda H’Ness CB 350. Will Royal Enfield be able to give a fitting answer to Honda’s onslaught on its territory? Well, only time will tell.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is one of the most feature-packed motorcycles from the brand. It gets a smartphone-compatible instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, which is a first for a Royal Enfield. The bike also gets a handlebar-mounted USB port for better convenience. Its all-new air-cooled fuel-injected motor produces slightly more power than the UCE engine, at 20.48PS and 27Nm. Expect this powerplant to be a lot more refined than its predecessor, making it a much better highway tourer than the Royal Enfield Thunderbird. We have consolidated all the features and details of the motorcycle, including the specifications in a detailed pre-launch wrapup here.
It will take on the Jawa and the Benelli Imperiale 400. Another worthy touring-friendly alternative would be the Bajaj Dominar 400. Expect bookings for the Meteor 350 to commence soon, at least unofficially. Are you looking forward to buying this motorcycle? Let us know in the comments.
