The much awaited Scrambler 400 has been launched by Triumph and Bajaj at a price of Rs. 2,62,996 (ex-showroom Delhi), the new model is a scrambler version of the speed 400 that is powered by the same 398cc engine
After the successful launch of the Speed 400, Triumph had announced that they would be launching the Scrambler 400X in October and true to the scrambler ideal, the bike features wider handlebars along with 150mm suspension travel on both ends giving it a ground clearance of 195mm. The power figures are unchanged from that of the Speed 400, with the same liquid-cooled 398cc 4 valve engine that outputs 40PS power at 8,0000 rpm and produces 37.5Nm torque at 6500rpm.
On the features side the bike does share a lot in common with the Speed 400 such as a ride-by-wire throttle, slip-and-assist clutch and the same semi-digital instrument cluster. Where the bike differs is in the additional features and accessories that are geared towards making the off-road experience better. Features such as switchable ABS and more than 25 different accessories from styling and comfort to luggage and security. The bike comes in 3 colours, Matt Khaki Green, Phantom Black and Carnival Red.
