Yamaha Ray ZR 125: Std Vs Rally

Yamaha has unveiled its BS6 scooters in the form of the Ray ZR 125 series. Like its 113cc predecessors, the Ray ZR 125 comes in two versions: Std and Street Rally. However, this time there are a lot of differences to tell these scooters apart. We list the subtle and not so subtle differences between the two:

 

Both get different graphics:

Both scooters get different graphic styles and colour options. While the standard Ray ZR 125 gets five colour options, the Street Rally trim is available in olive and blue colour schemes.

Gets different trim accents:

While the standard scooter gets body coloured apron body panels, the Street Rally variant gets sporty looking silver apron body panels.

Gets metal finished side trim:

Unlike the standard scooter that gets a fibre side trim, the Street Rally one gets a proper aluminium unit. 

Gets knuckle guards:

While the previous Street Rally variant got extended body panels which served up as knuckle guards, the new Ray ZR 125 gets proper knuckle guards. This protective feature is exclusive only for the Street Rally variant. 

Gets sporty suspension accents:

While the Std variant gets a black coloured monoshock, the Street Rally variant gets a sporty looking red painted monoshock. It also gets red rim tapes. 

Gets dual-purpose tyres:

While both scooters get Maxxis 12-inch front and 10-inch rear tyres, the Street Rally variant gets tyres with block tread pattern which should perform well in loose surfaces. 

Gets standard disc brakes:

While the front disc brake is optional on the Std variant, the Ray ZR 125 Street Rally gets it as standard fitment.
