All the bikes under CFMoto’s current India lineup will comply with BS6 norms in the future
- CFMoto launched the 300NK, 650NK, 650MT And 650 GT in July this year.
- Expect the BS6-compliant models to be dearer by 5-10per cent.
- CFMoto also plans to localise its bikes up to 50per cent in the future.
At the inauguration of the brand’s new dealership in Mumbai, Vamsi Jagini, the CEO of CFMoto India revealed that all models in its current range will comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The company had made its India debut in July with the launch of the 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and 650GT.
Jagini also revealed that the BS6-compliant models will be ready by April 2020 and will go on sale as soon as the norms come into effect. The brand has received about 700 bookings so far and is working on delivering the BS4 bikes before the BS6 deadline. CFMoto also plans to localise the bikes as much as possible.
Most of the components except for the engine and the chassis are planned to be localised up to 50per cent in 18 months’ time. So, wear-and-tear components like filters, wiring harnesses, cables, brake pads, and the likes are also planned to be localised. This should offset the cost increase due to BS6-compliance in the future. We believe the BS6 iterations of the brand’s current range could be dearer by around 5-10per cent.
