The fully-faired Hypersport Pro promises to offer tons of futuristic features!
- The Hypersport Pro electric bike gets electronically adjustable handlebars and footpegs.
- Using this feature, one can alter the riding position on the fly.
- It also gets an advanced 360-degree radar system that continuously monitors your surroundings.
Canadian startup Damon Motorcycles has announced that its first electric bike, the Damon Hypersport Pro, will make its global debut on January 7 at the 2020 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas.
What makes the Damon Hypersport Pro special is that the startup has equipped the motorcycle with electronically adjustable clip-on handlebars and footpegs that can raise or lower on the move. This lets the rider customise the riding position for touring, commuting or spirited riding.
What’s more, Damon Motorcycles has also developed a patented 360-degree radar-based Advanced Warning System for Motorcycles (AWSM) which continuously scans for obstacles while on the move. It is claimed to be capable of tracking up to 64 objects around the motorcycle and warns the rider through haptic feedback if anything comes too close to the motorcycle. The LED lights in the cockpit, as well as the haptic sensors in the seat and on the handlebars, alert the rider of any danger ahead.
The radar-based safety system works in conjunction with 5G-enabled cloud connectivity which learns from the owner’s riding pattern as well as from other Damon electric bike riders. In terms of underpinnings, the prototype comes with dual discs up front with Brembo monoblock calipers and a disc at the rear. The motorcycle is suspended on an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock.
