Paul Carberry - the man who is responsible in the making of a 1000cc V-twin engine from two 500cc Royal Enfield single cylinder engines is coming to India for business purposes. The man is looking for manufacturing and selling of Carberry Enfield in the country and fortunately, he has found an investor as well. The bikes were earlier sold in Australia but Paul had to wind up his business due to certain reasons.
The domestic operation process is at an early stage. Paul is looking for suppliers and other necessities that would be essential for his business. For this reason, we can expect the motorcycles to hit Indian markets in a matter of six to eight months from now.
Paul has received an investor - Jaspreet Singh Bhatia, who is a Bhilai-based businessman. Bhatia has a real estate business, a paper mill and a carton factory and most of all, he is a motorcycle enthusiast. For these reasons, the Carberry Enfield plant is expected to be set up in Bhilai. The arrival of the 1000cc Enfields to the country will open gates for Royal Enfield and cruiser lovers who are not satisfied with the 500cc engine displacement of the machine.
Talking of mechanicals, the 1000cc, 55-degree, V-twin engine is named as ‘double barrel’ and it would come mated to a five-speed transmission. Most of the parts of the motorcycle would also remain similar to Royal Enfield and this would greatly benefit in the availability of parts for the Carberry Enfield. The expected price is still unknown but Paul suggested that the price would be almost half of that what it used to be in Australia. With this, we can say that the bike might come with a price of around Rs. 7 lac. If a 1000cc machine comes at this price, the Indian biking enthusiasts would be hitting a jackpot for sure. Stay tuned for more!
