The India Expo Mart Limited (IEML) has been given a massive makeover prior to the forthcoming Auto Expo - The Motor Show 2016. The venue has witnessed enormous construction in the form of two large halls being created in the venue with carpet areas of 25000 sqms and 12240 sqms respectively. The venue previously had only 8 permanent halls measuring 27,648 sqms. Remaining display was curated in temporary hangers measuring 32,400 sqms.
IEML has now constructed Hall 9-12 and 14-15 as permanent halls complete with air conditioning and and adequate power supply cabling. Apart from the concrete flooring with trenches for utilities, the new halls have brick walls upto six meters above which insulated PUFF sheets have been used which will help in maintaining the temperature of the halls irrespective of the season. Unlike the old halls which have 5.3 meters clear height, the new halls have a minimum of 10 meter side height and 13 meters for the centre of the halls. In fact the Hall 12 has a side height of 15 meters and 18 meters height at the centres. This gives a clear height below the AC ducts of 9.5 mts in Halls 9,10,11,14 & 15 and Hall 12 will have a clear height after the AC duct around 14.5 meters, thus allowing a lot of breathing space for the visitors and exhibitors alike. This makes the new halls international class and also gives a lot of flexibility for display. As a result of these new constructions, the total permanent expo area has gone up by 4840 sqms.
The newly constructed halls have provisions for 25 MW of captive power supply, if required. All the halls in the venue today are connected with uninterrupted power supplied through gensets. The venue is also slated to have 2 pre-designated parking lots, P1 and P2, with capacity of over 10,000 cars/bikes. The parking area would also have the ticket counters. The venue would allow cost free entry and wheel chair facility for differently-abled people. The venue was recorded as Largest Wi-Fi hotspot (indoor) by Limca book of records in 2014. This time it is expected to be even bigger and better with more bandwidth.
The venue would witness high level security. Multiple levels of security would be provided in the form of CISF, private security guards and local police. 24/7 CCTV surveillance would be provided within and around the venue with more than 180 cameras. The local police would have PCRs stationed in and around the venue to ensure smooth flow of events. Other necessary security equipment like under body vehicle scanners and sniffer dogs would also strengthen the security at the venue. The venue is also well-equipped to tackle all kinds of fire hazards.
Auto Expo - The Motor Show 2016 poised to be BIGGER, BETTER & MORE EXCITING.
