Has a 1500W power output, full suspension, and hydraulic disc brakes
The ongoing electrification of two-wheelers doesn’t just apply to motorcycles and scooters -- bicycles are getting charged up as well. With pedal power available, electric propulsion only needs to be a supplement, meaning that the motors and battery packs need not be ginormous. Case in point is the EUNORAU Defender S, whose Indiegogo campaign has just been launched starting from $1,799 (Rs 1.3 lakh).

The base variant has just a 750W motor at the rear wheel, while the Defender S Pro ($1,999/Rs 1.46 lakh) gets another 750W motor at the front as well, making it a 1500W all-wheel-drive bicycle. Both versions get a 48V 14Ah removable battery integrated into the downtube, which can be supplemented by another 816 Wh battery pack that mounts piggyback-style onto the first, doubling the Defender’s range to 130 km.
Suspension comprises an RST hydraulic front fork and DNM rear air shock, while brakes are hydraulic disc units. Premium bits include a colour LCD display and a 9-speed Shimano Alivio derailleur. At the same time, fat 26 x 4.0 tyres should further ensure a pretty plush ride.
