The baby Dominar is expected to be launched by the end of this month
[UPDATE: Bajaj Dominar 250 Launched; Rs 30,000 Cheaper Than Bajaj Dominar 400!]
- The Dominar 250 is expected to be priced in the region of Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
- The new motorcycle has already arrived at select Bajaj dealerships.
- It will share its powertrain with the KTM 250 Duke.
Bajaj recently confirmed the arrival of the smaller Dominar 250. Now, Bajaj dealerships have unofficially started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. The Dominar 250 has even reached select Bajaj dealerships. While pricing is yet to be officially announced, dealer sources are pegging it around Rs 1.6 lakh to 1.7 lakh. The Dominar 250 is expected to be priced around Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 less than the larger Dominar 400. The Dominar 250 is likely to be launched later this month and deliveries are expected to commence soon after.
The Dominar 250 looks exactly like the Dominar 400 thanks to the use of similar bodywork. It even gets an LED headlamp and twin digital instrument consoles. The motorcycle will be available in two colour options: red and matte black. Unfortunately, the metallic green paint scheme is reserved only for the larger Dominar 400. Like the Dominar 400 shares its powertrain with the KTM 390 Duke, the Dominar 250 shares its motor and 6-speed gearbox with the KTM 250 Duke. Expect performance to be similar to the 250 Duke’s 30PS and 24Nm. The Dominar 250 retains the Dominar 400’s frame though it uses a box-section swingarm instead of the cast aluminium unit on the larger bike. It retains the same upside-down forks and monoshock as well as the ByBre brake setup. We expect Bajaj to offer dual-channel ABS on the Dominar 250.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 will compete against the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Yamaha FZ 25.
