EXCLUSIVE: Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon BS6 Specifications Revealed

BS6 upgrades have led to a slight drop in power

• The Pulsar 125 Neon is Bajaj’s most affordable motorcycle under the Pulsar family.
• The external dimensions of the Pulsar 125 BS6 have remained unchanged.
• As per our sources, the bike will be dearer by around Rs 6,500 (ex-Mumbai).

A leaked document has revealed the specifications of the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon BS6. According to the document, the 124.38cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, BS6-compliant motor produces 11.80PS at 8500rpm. In comparison, the BS4-compliant Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon makes 12PS (0.2PS more) at the same rpm. 

Expect peak torque to go down slightly in favour of cleaner emissions. In its BS4 guise, the bike produces 11Nm at 6500rpm. We also got our hands on the pricing of the Pulsar 125 Neon BS6 earlier. It costs Rs 73,088 (ex-showroom Mumbai), which makes it Rs 6,502 dearer than the BS4-compliant Pulsar 125 Neon.

As expected, the external dimensions have remained unchanged. The wheelbase (1320mm), length, width as well as height (2055mm x 755mm x 1060mm) are the same as the BS4 model. That said, the kerb weight is likely to go up a bit owing to the new emission controlling equipment onboard. Expect the bike to carry over the same set of underpinnings as before. This includes a telescopic front fork, twin Nitrox shock absorbers, 240mm disc up front and 130mm rear drum with combined braking system.

Bajaj is likely to launch the Pulsar 125 Neon BS6 in the coming weeks. When launched, it will go up primarily against the Hero Glamour 125 FI BS6 and Honda SP 125.
