Here’s your first look at the BS6-compliant KTM 250 Duke, which is likely to be launched in a couple of weeks. According to our sources, the BS6 250 Duke is priced at Rs 2.0 lakh (ex-showroom), making it around Rs 4,000 more expensive than the BS4 model. Bookings of the BS6-compliant 250 Duke will start soon.
So what does the BS6 250 Duke get over the BS4 model? Well, not much. Apart from two new paint options, the motorcycle remains the same as the older model. However, we must add that these two new silver and grey paint options are the best on any KTM bike on sale in India. According to our sources, KTM has carried forward the same features list as the older model.
There’s no word on how much the new BS6 motor makes, but we expect the power and torque figures could be the same as the older model. Since this is the same motor that is power the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250. In the Husqvarnas, this motor makes 29.91PS and 24Nm of torque. Apart from the engine, the rest of the motorcycle is the same as before. It gets the same suspension and braking hardware as the BS4 model.
In terms of rivals, the 250 Duke goes up against the Yamaha FZ25 and the Suzuki Gixxer 250. Should KTM launches it in a couple of days, it could be the first manufacturer to roll out a 250cc BS6-compliant motorcycle in India.
